Common Questions

Who is Nexkord built for?

Nexkord is built for gamers and online communities who want a clean, familiar platform with stronger privacy and clearer control over their communication. If you care about who can read your messages and how your data is handled, Nexkord is for you.

Are messages encrypted?

Nexkord uses encrypted transport by default, and E2EE messages are part of the privacy model for conversations where stronger protection is needed. We prefer clear wording over vague claims.

Can I keep my community private?

Yes. Communities can stay invite-only and private. Discovery is optional, and admins decide how open or closed the community is.

Is there a web app or only a desktop client?

Both. The web app is accessible directly from the top of this page — no download needed. The desktop client for Windows gives you native notifications and a more focused everyday setup.

Do I need to send a selfie or verify my identity?

No. We will never ask for a photo of your face, a government ID, or any proof of who you are. Some platforms have started requiring users to submit selfies for age verification. Nexkord does not, and will not. An account requires only a username, display name, email address, and password. Your identity is your own business.

What does privacy-focused mean in practice?

It means secure defaults, clear permissions, less unnecessary data exposure, and private communication features that are built into the product from the start, not added later as an afterthought.
